Our Story

                           From a university lab to a science-based food brand

When Bilal Qizilbash (B.S. in biology, M.S. in medical sciences) discovered that juiced leafy kale would selectively kill melanoma cancer cells in vitro while leaving non-cancerous cells alone, he’d had a breakthrough... and a realization.

The breakthrough led to a U.S. patent and continued laboratory studies.

The realization was that Bilal could help humanity with a product—Bilal’s EasyKale—that makes it easy for people to add #dailykale to their diets.

As the CEO of EasyKale Labs, he's continuing his research into the cancer-fighting properties of kale, while offering a next-generation product for making kale consumption easier--Bilal's EasyKale.

Draw-a-Smile Foundation

Draw-A-Smile Logo

An additional 2.5% of overall sales are donated to the Draw-a-Smile foundation. Weekly, the foundation provides hot meals to the homeless in Jackson, Mississippi and Brooklyn, New York. Additionally, the foundation supports community projects and actively works to find solutions for housing for the homeless.

Cancer Research Funding

Bilal's EasyKale® was born from cancer research, but that doesn't mean we're done yet! A portion of all sales go back to further funding the fight against cancer and for continued cancer research.

Cancer breakthrough


Bilal's research, based on his education in Biology and Medical Sciences, led to the discovery that juiced kale can attack and kill melanoma cells while not affecting non-cancerous cells in a controlled laboratory setting. This breakthrough in cancer research was the impetus behind the development of Bilal's EasyKale®.

According to Bilal: “The great hope for the future of cancer treatment is approaches that are reliably lethal to cancer cells, while sparing healthy cells entirely. The finding that a natural, safe, readily available, and inexpensive source may harbor just such potential is truly stunning. But there is so much work we need to do together”

Product Launch

A favorite among health enthusiasts


After testing and consumer feedback, the next step for Bilal's EasyKale® was expansion. MiraKale Labs LLC officially launched Bilal's EasyKale® Kale Shaker in 2019. The product was sold on Amazon and on the EasyKale website, which was well-received, and soon gained a loyal following of health-conscious consumers due to its many benefits and unique tasteless powder form, which made it easy to incorporate into a variety of dishes without altering the taste.

Bilal Qizilbash's entrepreneurial journey reached new heights with his participation in the Delta-i-Fund program and winning in the summer of 2018. In 2019, EasyKale Labs executed an MOU for EasyKale cancer research to be continued at Belhaven University, allowing Dr. Brandon and Bilal to continue to collaborate. Rich Sun, a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and co-founder of MCA, was an instrumental figure in Bilal Qizilbash's entrepreneurial journey.
